Humboldt County may be considered rural, but it is known for its densely forested mountainous and rural lifestyle with about 110 miles of the most pristine coastline situated along the Pacific coast. The cities and towns are dotted with hundreds of ornate examples of Victorian architecture. Humboldt State University and College of the Redwoods along with the communities support a vibrant art and theater scene.  We also host a thriving locavore tradition, supported by the local communities.  Humboldt County is known to be one of the most diverse eco-regions left on the planet.  The county contains over forty percent of all remaining old growth Coast Redwood forest.  We are host to any outdoor adventure you could possibly enjoy, it is one of the best environments to support and raise a family within.
