The UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health has been around since 1970 and focuses on advancing health and well-being by caring, teaching, discovering, leading, and connecting. The department employs 900+ employees, with 165+ being faculty members.
We provide remarkable patient care, offer outstanding educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows and conduct innovative research.
Physician faculty have the opportunity to practice in residency or community clinics, or to pursue a tenure track appointment. There are 18 family medicine clinics statewide, and each clinic offers a unique place to practice.
