The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is part of the Desert Pacific Healthcare Network. The Healthcare System is comprised of the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center and six community clinics located in Blythe, Corona, Palm Desert, Rancho Cucamonga, Murrieta and Victorville, and a newly opened Ambulatory Care Center in Redlands CA.

Opened in 1977, the Medical Center is named in memory of Congressman Jerry L. Pettis, who worked diligently to locate the facility in Loma Linda. It is one of the top 25 employers in the Inland Empire; with over 2,460 employees and 1,367 volunteers that serve over 76,000 Veterans who entrust their health care needs to the VA. The Medical Center provides a wide variety of services through inpatient, outpatient and home care programs. The major bed services are Medicine, Surgery and Behavioral Medicine. The facility has 162 acute care beds and a 108 bed Community Living Center. The new 340,000 square foot, 500-employee Ambulatory Care Center in nearby Redlands CA features 215 exam rooms, 17 procedure rooms, and 2,000 parking spaces, and can accommodate 50 percent of all outpatient care visits to the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. Services include primary care, women’s health, prosthetics, outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation, imaging, mental health, and dental health. The four clinics are arranged in a pinwheel configuration around a central public zone, creating a gathering space at the heart of the building. Materials and colors create a unique character for each building and help lend a smaller-scale experience for patients, families, and staff. The clinic is oriented to take advantage of daylight, and features skylights and full-height windows at key circulation and waiting areas. Extensive landscaping with greenspaces, including healing gardens and a physical therapy courtyard, enhances the therapeutic environment, and outdoor seating and picnic areas surround the building. The VA Loma Linda Ambulatory Care Clinic has achieved LEED Silver certification. Additional community information link:
