Bethel
The town of Bethel can be found on the Kuskokwim River 40 miles from the Bering Sea and 400 miles air distance from Anchorage. It is the hub for 56 surrounding villages providing supplies like food, fuel, medical care, and more. Bethels population is about 5,665 individuals who call this town home. It is the largest bush (rural) community in Alaska.
The communities of Bethel has so much to offer such as: 3 lane swimming pool and exercise gym, a movie theater, arts and craft stores and much more. In the summer times many of the residents are busy fishing and hunting for the winter.
Some of the bid events that occur in Bethel every year is the Kuskokwim 300, which is a sled dog race as well as the Cama-I Dance Festival that bring everyone in for all the surrounding villages.
