Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and patient focused Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care for our patients. This is a part-time OR full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including removing plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth
- Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist
- Conduct patient screenings and assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Perform dental receptionist duties, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records in Open Dental
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment
- Utilize CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations
Requirements:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene
- Proficiency in Open Dental or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of medical coding for insurance billing purposes
- Experience with taking dental radiographs (X-rays) and interpreting results
- Familiarity with patient assessment techniques, including vital signs monitoring
- Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
