*Job Summary*
Seeking an experienced *Emergency Room RN* for a *night shift travel assignment* at *Saint Mary's Hospital*. The nurse will provide direct, high-acuity care in a fast-paced ER setting, working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Must be skilled in rapid assessment, emergency response, and trauma care. Strong communication and clinical decision-making required.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritize care for patients with urgent and emergent conditions.
* Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions per provider orders.
* Monitor patient vitals, symptoms, and responses to treatments; document accurately in the EMR.
* Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
* Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using critical thinking and advanced skills.
* Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up care.
* Maintain compliance with hospital policies, EMTALA regulations, and infection control standards.
* Report abuse cases (child/adult) and coordinate with social workers as necessary.
*Qualifications*
* *Active and unrestricted RN license* in the state of assignment.
* *Minimum 2 years* of recent Emergency Room nursing experience.
* Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and medical imaging techniques.
* *NIHSS or Stroke Certification* - Preferred.
* *EDAP Level I & II* and *BVP (MAB)* training - Required.
* Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while providing care to diverse patient populations, including geriatrics.
* *COVID-19 vaccination and booster* - Preferred.
* Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and multitasking ability in high-acuity settings.
* Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
* Proficiency in *EMR systems* (Epic, Cerner, or similar) - Preferred
