Job Overview:

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit provides comprehensive nursing care, which includes assessing patient needs, formulating diagnoses, implementing care plans, coordinating services, and evaluating patient outcomes. This role requires strict adherence to evidence-based practices and close collaboration with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

* *Assessment/Reassessment*: Systematically assesses and reassesses the healthcare needs of individuals, tailoring care to specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves the patient, family, and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
* *Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes*: Analyzes assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
* *Implementation and Coordination of Care*: Provides nursing care through interventions designed to achieve established goals and meet patient needs, using professional judgment guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations, and policies.
* *Evaluation*: Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge to identify problems, assess facts, and reach sound conclusions.
* Evaluates discharge needs related to the plan of care, utilizing available resources as needed.

Requirements:

* *Education*: A Diploma or Associate's Degree (ADN) in nursing is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
* *Experience*: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
* *Licensure/Certification*: A current Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation before providing patient care and must be maintained throughout employment.
* *Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities*: New graduates are required to complete a Nurse Residency Program.
