Job Description

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech I) at Advanced Medical Imaging Outpatient Clinic performs MRI procedures to aid patient diagnosis and treatment under a radiologist's guidance. Using advanced MRI technology, the technologist creates high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and comfort per the 2024 ACR Manual on MR Safety. This role requires teamwork, precise scanner operation, and adherence to safety protocols. The technologist supports quality improvement and patient-centered care.

*Minimum Qualifications:*

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent

• ARRT certification in Radiography (R)

• ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) within 90 days of hire

• American Heart Association BLS certification within 60 days of hire

*Preferred Qualifications:*

• 1 year of clinical MRI experience

• Experience with 1.5T and 3T MRI systems (e.g., Siemens Aera, Skyra, Sola)

• ARRT-MR advanced certification

• Experience with MRI exams (Neuro, Ortho, Body, MRA, MRV, Perfusion, Cine, Runoffs)

• Experience in breast MRI and MRI-guided breast biopsies

• Proficiency with DynaCAD software for breast MRI analysis

• Proficiency with IV starts

*Essential Job Functions:*

• Performs MRI exams, including breast MRI and MRI-guided biopsies, ensuring image quality and safety.

• Follows 2024 ACR Manual on MR Safety, screening for implants and ferromagnetic objects.

• Works with radiologists, Quality Coordinator, and MR Safety Officer to optimize protocols and ensure safety.

• Positions patients and selects coils for best image results.

• Adjusts scanner settings to improve images while minimizing SAR and exposure.

• Administers IV contrast and monitors for reactions.

• Manages exam documentation, billing, and archiving in EMR systems.

• Reviews prior imaging and records for timely reporting.

• Inspects and maintains MRI equipment, reporting issues promptly.

• Participates in quality improvement, peer review, and continuing education.

• Keeps MRI suite clean, safe, and compliant with infection control and safety policies

*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*

• Knowledge of MRI physics, imaging techniques, and anatomy, including breast imaging.

• Skilled in operating 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners and DynaCAD software.

• Understands MRI safety, including MR Conditional implants.

• Proficient in breast MRI and MRI-guided biopsies.

• Provides empathetic, professional patient care.

• Works well in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision.

• Communicates and collaborates with teams effectively.

• Uses EMR, PACS, Microsoft Office, and office equipment proficiently.

• Solves problems and optimizes protocols.

• Maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA.

*Schedule Requirements*

• Full-time with regular attendance.

• Monday-Friday, daytime hours.

• No regular weekends, on-call, or holiday shifts.
