*Job Overview*
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for animals in a veterinary setting. You will assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating various animal health issues while ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients. *Duties*
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to the veterinarian.
- Provide proper restraint and handling of animals during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Assist with pet grooming as needed, including bathing and nail trimming.
*Skills*
- Proficient in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the veterinary team.
- Experience with animal care techniques, including animal catheterization and restraint methods.
- Knowledge of pet grooming practices to enhance the appearance and hygiene of animals.
- Strong dog and cat handling skills to ensure safety during examinations and treatments.
- Comfortability in working with exotics is a plus but we are willing to train.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating compassion for animals.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in veterinary medicine.
