*Child and Family Therapist*
*Job Description*
*GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* Provide assessment, education, and treatment services to children and adults impacted by abuse and trauma as an integral part of Children's Alliance of South Texas, A Child Advocacy Center (CAST). Work in partnership with CAST staff, and all multidisciplinary team (MDT) members to mobilize and strengthen the MDT approach to the prevention, intervention, investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse. Works in a professional manner consistent with the mission, contractual agreements with funding sources, Board approved policies and procedures, and directives from the Program Director and Executive Director. Background investigations will be conducted on all candidate finalists.
*Education: *Minimum of Master's Degree in Counseling or Mental Health Related Field
*Licensure Requirements:* Minimum of LPC-Associate, LPC, MFT-Associate, LMFT, LCSW, etc.
*Reports to:* Clinical Supervisor
*Essential Functions:*
Provide direct client services to child and adolescent victims of abuse and their non-offending family members.
* Trained or willing to be trained and knowledgeable in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
* Provide individual, play, group, and /or family therapy.
* Establish a schedule that designates 65% of time to direct client contact
* Conduct regular assessments
* Keep current all case records and documentation
* Provide crisis intervention as needed
* Provide referrals to mental health resources in the community
* Keep therapeutic skills current through on-going continuing education
* Exhibit sensitivity to and awareness of unique needs of minority cultures and diverse ethnic groups
* Display excellent work ethic
* Assess client functioning and develop individualized treatment plans
* Prepare and present cases for clinical review
* Coordinate with Supervisor on all cases needing psychiatric/psychological consultation
* Support victims in the court process
* Provide court testimony
* Attend monthly peer supervision with CAST Clinical Department
* Possibly participate in CACTX regional peer reviews
* Comply with CAST Policies and Procedures Manual
* Comply with Clinical Department Policies and Procedures
* Know and adhere to all ethical guidelines and rules as set forth by the appropriate licensing board and federal law
* Serve as a member of an interagency multi-disciplinary team
* Attend monthly CAST Staff Meetings
* Participate in Strategy Sessions
* Communicate with the MDT regarding victims' progress /emotional state
* Consult and collaborate with the MDT to work towards the mission of the CAST
*Miscellaneous duties as assigned, including (but not limited to)*
* Assist with general CAST operations as needed
* Participate in community and special events
* Participate in CAST committees as needed
* Travel for ongoing professional development as required, as well as counseling in satellite offices
* Be willing to have a flexible schedule
* Must be self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
* Able to represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
* Must provide internal and external customer service.
* Must have reliable transportation
* Ability to work On-Call at times depending on client needs.
* Ability to have working transportation and travel 30%.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
