Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team three to four days per week, Tuesday - Friday. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, taking x-rays, conducting patient assessments, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. Duties:
- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical history review and vital signs measurement
- Take dental X-rays and perform other medical imaging procedures as necessary
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide personalized recommendations for maintaining oral health
- Perform medical coding for dental procedures using appropriate coding systems (e.g., CDT codes)
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software (e.g., Dentrix)
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
Qualifications:
- Valid state license as a Dental Hygienist
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in using dental software (e.g., Dentrix) for recordkeeping and scheduling
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral diseases, and treatment options
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise tasks
- Ability to work well in a team environment
