This role involves working with patients across different settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facilities, providing essential support to physical therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services.
*Duties*
* Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
* Perform therapeutic exercises and modalities to enhance patient recovery.
* Conduct assessments and monitor patient progress, documenting findings accurately.
* Provide education to patients and their families regarding care plans and home exercises.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Participate in discharge planning and assist with transitioning patients to home health or outpatient services.
* Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment, adhering to safety protocols.
*Qualifications*
* Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential.
* Experience in various settings such as acute care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics, and home health is preferred.
* Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plan development.
* Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and team members.
* Ability to demonstrate proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques.
