We are looking for a motivated individual with high work ethics to join our team as a Dental Hygienist
Under the general supervision of the Dentist, the hygienist is responsible for promoting optimal dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings, charting conditions of decay and periodontal disease and patient education.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* 2+ years of experience
* Graduate of an accredited School of Dental Hygiene with Current CPR certification
* Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Dental Hygienist
* Local anesthesia certification preferred but not mandatory
* Good working knowledge of dental equipment and terminology, OSHA and COVID safety compliance
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced dental environment
* Superior customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
* Detail oriented, organized, professional and ability to multi task.
* Good working knowledge of Digital radiographs, paperless patient records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Provide direct care to patients.
* Reviews and update medical history at each visit.
* Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing and selecting instruments.
* Performs all necessary oral prophylactic services by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth by scaling, polishing or sub gingival root planning and curettage; applying fluoride treatments and placing pit and fissure sealants.
* Detects disease by performing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gingival tissues; using a probe to detect areas of periodontal pocketing and disease and assess levels of recession.
* Document all hygiene services and chart clinical findings.
* Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructios.
- Accurately document any findings relating to the patient's intra-oral examination.
- Schedule appointments for recall/maintenance visits
- Assist with other duties when free as needed, including sterilization and front desk
Office Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 7/8-5 pm, Tuesday: 7-4 pm
First Saturday or at least one Saturday of every month: 8-2 pm
