The Nurse promotes and maintains a healthful living and working environment for clients and staff and strives to ensure that the optimal achievable quality of nursing care is available to all clients. Assists in completing initial nursing assessments on clients. Refers any concerns to local health professionals.
* Notes any physician's orders and ensures compliance.
* Provides for necessary follow up medical aftercare. Contacts parents regarding medications and health concerns
* Responsible for the overall health of the clients
* Coordinates and schedules appointments, collaborates with Providers.
* Assists in completing nursing assessment on each client.
* Dispenses medications as scheduled.
* Provides education to clients regarding medication and their side effects.
* Checks for needed monthly medication renewals.
* Documents all medications administered; services provided to client and any medical needs the client may have.
* Files all pertinent medical information weekly.
* Assists in completing nursing assessment on each client.
* Provides ongoing assessment of the wellness of each client.
* Performs phlebotomy and intramuscular injections using proper techniques.
* Obtains lab specimens as scheduled.
* Provides immunizations as needed for clients.
* Takes and records heights and weights monthly or more often as needed.
* Instructs and documents any client's needs they have related to allergies, hygiene, medication, and health.
* Updates weekly progress/order book.
* Completes utilization review duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing
* Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
* Ensures clients' rights are protected.
* Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
* Capable of being on-call
* Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations and all contractual terms
Requirements:
* Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
* Requires Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
* Licensed in the State of Kansas.
* First Aid/CPR.
* Mandt
* Prefer 2 years' experience working with adolescents or psychiatric populations.
* Must be 21 years of age.
* Must pass a drug screen, a physical examination, TB Skin Test, MVR, KBI and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance Check
* Lifting Requirements of 50 lbs.
* Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
