*Job Summary*
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Part-time Dental Hygienist to become a valued member of our dynamic dental team. We are a well established, solo run-dentist private general practice, proud of its strong patient retention with a commitment to serving multigenerational families in the community, while offering a relaxed no pressure fun environment for our staff and patients.

*Schedule*

* Tuesday and Thursdays, 9:00am - 6:00pm (with the potential opportunity to add a 3rd day)
* 1 hour scheduled lunch break provided

*Responsibilities*

* Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including periodontal charting, medical history review, and oral examinations.
* Take dental radiographs (medical imaging) using appropriate aseptic techniques to assist in diagnosis.
* Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans tailored to their needs.
* Review and document patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR/ Dentrix), maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
* Monitor infection control protocols diligently, adhering to sterilization standards and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
* Manage patient flow by preparing treatment areas, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
* Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care delivery and foster a positive clinic environment.

*Requirements*

* Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice legally.
* Proficiency in dental office software ( Dentrix) for documentation review and record keeping.
* Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
* Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical imaging techniques.
* Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
* Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health status and treatment options.
