*Essential Functions *
• With each member, creating a Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Evaluation and Treatment Plan that meets Idaho Health and Welfare criteria and the Medicaid requirements for documentation.
• In the therapy sessions, providing Uzima members with culturally appropriate evidence-based interventions.
• In urgent situations, providing case management. Common crisis situations may involve housing, food, access to medical care, or advocating for your member with another organization.
• Creating a note after each contact with a member.
• When appropriate, discharging the member from services when the course of treatment is completed, or when the member determines that services are no longer desired.
• Participating in continuing education and maintaining your credentials, attending the required treatment team meetings and supervision, and staying current on clinical diagnosis and treatment modalities.
*Position Qualifications*
Because of the populations that we serve and the requirements of the insurance companies, the following list of qualifications is required.
• Currently licensed as a mental health practitioner in the state of Idaho (LCSW, LCPC, LMSW, LMFT, LPC, etc.) and must be actively maintaining your licensure.
• Earned a master's degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or applicable human services field, and a minimum of (1) years of experience working with individuals suffering from a diagnosed mental illness.
• Have technical skills sufficient to utilize word processing, the EMR, and any other apps and/or software programs that are needed to perform the essential functions listed above.
• Possess some knowledge of multidisciplinary teams, integrated health services, and the interactions of mental health programs in relation to psychiatry and primary health care.
• Must have the willingness to provide services (a) to low income family members who are mentally ill and/or developmentally disabled (b) to immigrants or refugees with complex cultural norms and language barriers (c) while communicating through an interpreter (d) to people under stress and who may have reactive behaviors linked to their trauma and (e) to families with a member who has a co-occurring disorder, with or without any treatment of the disorder.
• Must be willing to meet with the participants in the setting that is most suitable to their needs.
• Must be able to develop and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with Uzima staff, members and their families, and a variety of partner agencies in the community.
*Additional Skills and Requirements*
a) Communication Skills: the therapist must be able to accurately communicate information, verbally and in writing. Must be adept at exchanging appropriate information internally, with other community organizations, and with the greater community.
b) Professional Judgment: the therapist must be have situational awareness and the ability to manage dynamic interactions, maintain the focus on the needs of the member, while adjusting for changes in circumstances and the environment.
c) Professional Confidentiality: this position requires the handling of protected health information. Each employee must adhere to all state and federal laws pertaining to privacy, confidentiality, and the securing of protected health information.
d) Transportation: each employee must be able to access or provide their own transportation for the purpose of (a) traveling to meet with your member in the community (b) accessing community resources and (c) attending the required meetings and/or trainings.
*Salary Range *
The therapist wages range between $40-$50 dollars per billable hour (depending on credentials and job performance). The traditional therapist renumeration is based on billable hours, but a salary is possible for high performing employees. All terms of employee earnings are negotiable.
*Work Environment*
This is a non-standard work environment. Work is performed primarily in the community, with some hours in various office environments. The work environment will regularly extend to other community offices, private homes, or the hospital. Employees in this position may be exposed to some risks or discomforts which may require planning and/or safety precautions in the context of the situation.
