Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing
- Take and develop dental X-rays using medical imaging equipment
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing aseptic technique support
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients during dental treatments
- Utilize Dentrix software to maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment
- Assist with patient assessment, including reviewing medical history and performing oral cancer screenings
- Provide specialized dental care for pediatric patients
- Apply knowledge of anatomy to identify oral health issues and abnormalities
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system is a plus
Requirements:
- Valid state license as a Dental Hygienist
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques for dental X-rays
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment
- Familiarity with Dentrix software or similar dental office management systems
- Experience in assisting dentists during procedures is preferred but not required
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide personalized oral care recommendations
- Knowledge of pediatric dental care techniques and best practices
- Strong understanding of human anatomy as it relates to oral health
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 27 per week
