LVT Licensed Veterinary Technician

Fast-paced, 5 doctor, privately owned veterinary hospital in expanding community of Huntsville, AL is seeking a full-time licensed veterinary technician to join our small animal practice. We offer a nationally competitive salary and benefits, both of which vary based on experience.
*CVT/ RVT/ LVT certification is REQUIRED*
_(Chase Animal Hospital will assist with AL licensing if currently licensed out of state)_
Applicants should possess exceptional communication skills, be highly motivated and driven, a good multitasker, organized, have good attention to detail, be compassionate, dependable, and dedicated to our mission of providing excellent patient care and customer service.
Hospital hours are M-F 7:00am - 5:30pm with full time shifts considered more than 32 hours per week. Rotating weekend 'on-call' shifts (roughly one weekend every 6-ish weeks) and shared holiday shifts are expected, with duties to involve caring for hospitalized pets or critical boarding pets, as well as administration of medications to boarding pets.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* client communication and education
* exam room & hospitalized patient care
* ability to restrain variety of cats and dogs, including lift up to 40 lbs alone or team lift larger pets
* dentistry with digital radiography
* surgical anesthesia, prep, monitoring, and assisting +/- suturing
* drug calculations
* pharmacy experience and skills
* digital radiography
* bandaging & splinting
* catheterization
* cytology, hematology, serology, parasitology
* fluid calculations, prep, and administration
* obtaining diagnostic samples and perform appropriate prep, testing, and/or submission
* assistance with ultrasonography
Experience with Avimark practice management and IDEXX in-house diagnostic equipment a PLUS but not required.
