*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support overall treatment plans in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. *Duties*
* Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
* Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
* Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays using proper aseptic techniques.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs.
* Support dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, ensuring proper instrument handling and infection control.
* Review and update medical records accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
* Document treatment notes, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with medical coding standards.
* Maintain a sterile environment following infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines.
* Collaborate with team members on patient care plans, including pediatrics when applicable, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
*Experience*
* Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity using EMR systems such as Dentrix preferred.
* Proven knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical records management.
* Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards related to dental care.
* Demonstrated ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
