PALS Feline Veterinary Services is an inclusive and cat-crazed non-profit clinic in Winthrop, ME looking to expand our team to make a bigger difference!
We operate on a drop-off only basis providing low-cost routine and urgent care, high-quality high-volume spay/neuter, and dentistry to client-owned cats, PALS No-Kill Cat Shelter, and nearby shelters and rescues. We have digital radiographs, ultrasound, in-house bloodwork machines, an AI slide reader, an incubator, an oxygen cage, and more. You will be free to arrange your patients throughout the day and accept or decline urgent visits as you please - this job is exactly what you make of it!
We are currently a one-doctor practice with two astounding LVTs plus incredible support staff. We are looking to hire a feline-focused part-time veterinarian with the opportunity to transition to full-time. The ideal candidate would be someone who is passionate about providing access to care, loves the idea of drop-off visits, and meshes right into our hilarious and resourceful shelter medicine-dedicated team.

*What you'll do*
* Conduct thorough examinations to assess the health of felines and determine appropriate treatment plans.
* Perform surgeries and medical procedures with precision and care
* Administer vaccinations and medications.
* Utilize your knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, and physiology to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
* Provide emergency critical care for felines in distress, demonstrating your veterinary critical care experience.
* Handle felines safely using effective animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort during examinations and treatments.
* Collaborate with a team of veterinary professionals to maintain high standards of animal husbandry and care.
* Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients.
*Experience*
* Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
* Proven veterinary experience with a strong foundation in animal handling and spaying/neutering felines.
* Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure safe practices during treatments.
* A passion for animal welfare coupled with excellent communication skills to engage with veterinary staff and pet owners.
