Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings and assist the dentist in various procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planning, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct patient assessments and record medical histories
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Perform dental charting and update patient records using Dentrix software
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
- Follow aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist
- Proficient in medical documentation and recordkeeping
- Familiarity with Dentrix software preferred
- Strong knowledge of patient assessment systems and vital signs monitoring
- Understanding of medical coding principles and procedures
- Experience assisting dentists during procedures
