*Responsibilities*
* Assist patients with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to foster independence and confidence.
* Support the implementation of individualized care plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring therapeutic goals are met efficiently.
* Provide hands-on therapy in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits.
* Help facilitate rehabilitation activities for patients across age groups-from pediatrics to geriatrics-tailoring interventions to meet specific needs.
* Utilize your knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
* Assist with assessments related to occupational health, medical imaging procedures, and acute care scenarios to ensure comprehensive patient support.
* Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines during all patient interactions.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans that align with each patient's recovery journey.
* Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to enhance daily functioning at home or in outpatient settings.
* Keep detailed records of patient care activities, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with healthcare regulations.
*Qualifications*
* Current certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) from an accredited program.
* Prior experience working in inpatient settings such as hospitals or skilled nursing facilities is highly preferred.
* Experience providing therapy in outpatient clinics or home health environments is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and occupational therapy principles.
* Proven ability to assist with ADLs and implement care plans effectively across diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
* Familiarity with acute care procedures, medical imaging support roles, and inpatient rehabilitation processes.
* Excellent patient care skills combined with compassionate communication abilities to foster trust and motivation.
