Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and maintain dental materials and supplies
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Update and maintain patient medical records and documentation
- Provide support to dentists in managing pediatric patients
- Utilize computer software systems such as CAD, Epic, and medical coding for accurate record keeping
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficient in using dental equipment and instruments
- Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and infection control protocols
- Familiarity with medical coding systems for accurate billing and insurance claims
