*Job Summary*
SonoPath is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join our mobile sonography team. In this role, you will provide ultrasound services while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at various clinics in the area of Eugene, Salem, and Corvallis. Ultrasound experience is a bonus, but not required. We will train the right candidate. You will learn how to perform ultrasounds utilizing SonoPath's SDEP® scanning techniques in abdomen, cardiac, MSK, small parts (eye/thyroid), FNA, and cytology.
*Job Requirements & Responsibilities*
* Valid and current CVT certification in Oregon is *REQUIRED*.
* A minimum experience of 3+ years working as a credentialed technician in clinical practice.
* You must have a reliable car with proof of full coverage auto insurance.
* You must have a love for the open road, traveling from clinic to clinic providing veterinary ultrasound services with a friendly and professional attitude.
* You must be comfortable working as a team and independently while utilizing various iPhone apps and email to keep in direct communication with the rest of the SonoPath mobile teams.
* Our teams are on the road and scanning Mon - Friday.
* Attendance at weekend ultrasound training events approx. 1-3 times a year at SonoPath's Education Center located in Andover, NJ.
*Required Skills*
* Confidence with needles, blood draws, I.V. catheter work, intubation, sedation, patient monitoring.
* Able to process training, instruction, and critique in an "everyday we learn something new" environment.
* The ability to listen and communicate amongst your team members and other veterinary staff at various clinics.
* Adapt to change of route or schedule depending on patient need or emergency situations.
*Salary & Commission*
* Starting salary range based on experience is $50,000 to $70,000 per year with several commission based opportunities once you are fully trained and SDEP® certified.
*Ultrasound Training, Support, and SDEP® Certification*
* Whether you are new to veterinary ultrasound or have some scanning experience, SonoPath will train you to be the best clinical sonographer you can be with thorough on the job training. You will shadow our SDEP® certified clinical sonographer in the field and learn how to perform abdominal, cardiac, orthopedic, small parts ultrasound, and other sonographic procedures.
* You will also have the opportunity to train on site at SonoPath's Education Center located in Andover, NJ.
* You will be fully supported in your training with in-person and virtual guidance and all of the resources you will need to achieve your sonographic goals.
* You will earn your SDEP® Certification in both abdomen and echo within 6-8 months, sometimes sooner. :)
*Physical considerations: *For this position, candidates will be required to lift an ultrasound unit and it's case (approx. 20 lbs) in and out of your vehicle several times a day, lift and restrain animals of various sizes and weights during training events, and be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. There will be repetitive motions while performing ultrasounds particularly involving the shoulder, elbow, and wrist.
*Interview and hiring process*
* All interviews will be done via Zoom (we record all interviews strictly for internal use only). Initial interviews will be with the preliminary hiring team.
* If both you and the hiring team are interested in going forward, we will set up a day for a Ride Along. For a Ride Along, you will be paired up with our SDEP® certified sonographer and hit the open road with them so you can get a "real world" feel for the position. You will visit various clinics in the areas depending on sonographer schedules and availability, and watch what you will eventually be doing in the field.
* We encourage you to ask questions and make sure this is the correct career choice for you. You have to really like driving and working both independently and as a team. You should enjoy what you do on a daily basis, not dread it. :)
* If your Ride Along goes well, we will ask you to join the entire hiring team for a second Zoom interview where we will ask about your thoughts about the position. After the second interview, if the hiring team determines that adding you to the SonoPath team is the right choice for both you and SonoPath, an offer of employment will be sent to you.
