
Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our distinguished Urologic Oncology Surgery team. This advanced practice provider will deliver comprehensive, high-acuity care to patients across the cancer continuum — from diagnosis and surgical treatment to long-term surveillance and survivorship.
Our cancer center represents a unique partnership between Baptist Health and MD Anderson Cancer Center, making us one of only a select few health systems in the nation to replicate MD Anderson’s proven model of multidisciplinary cancer care in a community-based setting.
Providers practice in a new 330,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art oncology facility designed to enhance patient experience and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Patient Population
Adult patients with urologic malignancies including:
Prostate cancer
Bladder cancer
Kidney cancer
Testicular cancer
This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful, longitudinal relationships with patients throughout their cancer journey.
Inpatient Care
First assist in the OR (robotic, laparoscopic, and open urologic oncology procedures)
Post-operative rounding and acute care management
Wound care and pain management
Evaluation of new consults
Coordination of hospital discharges
Timely collaboration with consulting physicians
Outpatient Care
Evaluation and management of new and established patients
Participation in multidisciplinary oncology care
Performance of clinic procedures as applicable
Timely and accurate documentation
Monday – Friday schedule
Shared home call during the week
Weekend call includes inpatient rounding and emergency OR coverage
Required
Master’s Degree
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Current Florida licensure as an APRN or PA
National certification as NP or PA
Preferred
1–2 years of first assist or RNFA experience
