Michigan Heart and Vascular Institute and IHA have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a respected Cardiology practice located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant maintains the continuum of care through the coordination and integration of all phases of patient care using physician orders, progress notes, care plans, critical pathways, managed care guidelines, best practice protocols, evidence based care, and the utilization review processes.  Crosses continuum of care starting with assessment and education, immediate post-procedure care and preparation for discharge and works closely with nursing staff including ICU, progressive and general care.

The provider will provide health care services under the direction of collaborating physician.  Responsibilities for this opportunity include directing and coordinating a health care plan for the assigned patient population by performing physical examinations, conducting approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribing appropriate interventions and medications and collaborating with consulting physicians and health care professionals.

The schedule for this opportunity is 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Minimum required qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a NP/PA program
  • Master’s Degree
  • State of Michigan License
  • Active and Current DEA
  • NP/PA Certification
  • ACLS and BLS Certification

The selected provider will possess clinical Cardiology experience or Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience in a relevant field (e.g. Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine). Recent graduates must have either staff nurse Cardiology experience or clinical preceptorships in Cardiology.

The successful candidate will be able to provide demonstrable experience working closely with physicians on the management of Cardiology patients including clinic visits and appointments, hospital rounds, development and implementation of a medical management plan and ongoing follow up of any patient care issues.

ABOUT THE FACILITY

Michigan Heart is recognized nationally as a leader among large cardiovascular medicine subspecialty practices.  We are based out of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Our Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is comprised of a single group with 40 cardiologists and cardiology APPs.  We have integrated with St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, a member of Trinity Health, one of the largest Catholic health care organizations in the United States.  Trinity Health is based in Livonia, Michigan.

We collaborate with our cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons (both single groups) within a forum called the Michigan Heart & Vascular Institute (MHVI).  Our practice locations span across much of southeastern Michigan.  Regional partnering hospitals include St. Mary Mercy in Livonia, Chelsea Community Hospital and St Joseph Livingston in Howell, Michigan.

We have one of the largest noninvasive cardiology practices in the country with a full complement of services including echocardiography (including 3D), Transesophageal Echocardiography, Nuclear Stress, Noninvasive vascular studies, Cardiac CTAs, and Cardiac MRIs.  We have a large Electrophysiology program including EP studies, Ablations, Pacemaker and ICD implantation.  We provide a full range of coronary interventional procedures including cardiac catheterizations and PCIs, complex CTO PCI.  Our peripheral interventional program includes carotid, upper extremity, renal/mesenteric, aortoiliac, fem-pop and below the knee PVI and renal denervation procedures.  Our structural heart program includes BAV, TAVR, mitral valvuloplasty, MitraClip, ASD/PFO closure, left atrial appendage closure, septal ablation and coronary fistula closure procedures.  We are or have also been involved with clinical trials of left ventricular partitioning devices and stem-cell therapy.
