Opportunity Highlights  

Kent Hospital, an affiliate of Care New England, is seeking a full time Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dedicated team in Warwick, Rhode Island. This provider will be an integral part of the department that is built on the premise of collaborative, team-oriented providers with intersecting skills and interests that include providing quality emergency medical care to our community.

About the Opportunity

  • Competitive base salary, and generous benefit package including CME, malpractice insurance coverage, and employer retirement match program
  • Three 12 hour shifts per week (7:30 a.m.- 7:30 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.)
  • 1-2 patients per hour (mixed acuity) with access to multiple attending Physicians for support at all times
  • Pod system used to provide care for over 70,000 patients annually (approximately 200/day)
  • 43 hard-walled treatment bays and dedicated locations for behavioral health and low/mid-acuity patients
  • Established transfer process with nearby tertiary care center
  • > 2 years of Emergency Medicine Experience preferred

Our History

Kent Hospital is a 359-bed, nonprofit, acute care hospital serving approximately 300,000 residents of Warwick, West Warwick, East Greenwich, West Greenwich, Coventry and parts of North Kingstown, Exeter and Cranston, Rhode Island.

Kent is located on 57 acres in the Toll Gate section of Warwick (11 miles south of Providence) and is the second largest single-site hospital in the state.

Chartered by the State of Rhode Island in 1946, Kent opened with 90 beds in 1951 and expanded in 1960, 1973 and 1981 to keep pace with community growth. Today, Kent provides a full complement of inpatient services including:

Kent's Emergency Department (ED) is the second busiest in the state with some 70,000 annual visits. The ED's patient rapid assessment model has dramatically reduced waiting time and overall length of patients visit.

Kent is governed by the 17-member voluntary Care New England Board of Directors drawn from the community it serves. Paari Gopalakrishnan, MD, MBA, is president and chief operating officer of Kent Hospital.
