Akron Children’s Hospital is the only freestanding pediatric hospital in Northeast Ohio and the 8^th largest children’s hospital in the country. Active involvement in medical student and resident education; academic appointment at Northeast Ohio Medical University is available and commensurate with experience. Barberton is in Summit County, Ohio. The population size is approximately 30,000. It is a commuter town adjacent to Akron and an easy commute to many of the beautiful suburbs with excellent public and private school options. The communities surrounding Barberton offer a blend of traditional and modern amenities, punctuated by an extensive system of parks, lakes, cultural activities and recreational facilities.  There are many great communities within an easy commute and is centrally located between Akron and Cleveland with easy access to the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The 110-mile towpath trail from Cleveland to below Canton offers places of tranquility, and hidden views of wildlife.
