UM Charles Regional Medical Center is a regional, not-for-profit, integrated health system serving Charles County and the surrounding areas of southern Maryland. Our 120-bed medical center, which is affiliated with the University of Maryland Medical System, offers all of the challenges you’d expect from a dynamic high-tech medical environment. What you won’t find are stressful commutes, assembly-line medicine and an impersonal feel.

About La Plata

The Town of La Plata is located in Southern Maryland about 30 miles southeast of Washington, DC, 60 miles south of Baltimore, 45 miles southwest of Annapolis, and 80 miles north of Richmond, Va. La Plata is a charming community with a history spanning back to 1888. Its namesake is the Argentinian river that was a favorite location of one of the original owners of the land.
