Founded in October 2018, Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport is a public-private partnership between the nationally recognized health system Ochsner Health and the academic and research center LSU Health Shreveport.

Ochsner LSU Health began with a vision to expand access to great care and improve the health and wellness of our communities — making our region a healthy place to live, work and raise a family. We're proud of the progress we've made in the last three years, and we continue to look forward to giving our best to North Louisiana including improving and expanding facilities, enhancing patient-centered technology, growing the medical school and enhancing research.

Building on the strengths of both partners, we are able to lead our region in healthcare and deliver preventative, primary and acute care services.

Shreveport is located in the northwest corner of Louisiana, 15 miles from Texas, and 185 miles directly east of Dallas on Interstate 20. Shreveport and its sister city across the Red River (Bossier City) have a population of just over 250,000. City amenities include a full-time symphony orchestra, minor league sports, riverfront aquarium, the American Rose Center, a full calendar of riverfront arts and music festivals, and much more. We enjoy the ambience of a smaller city and the resources of many larger metropolitan areas. Being located in extreme northwestern Louisiana, our climate is closer to that of Atlanta or Birmingham than to that of New Orleans. The low cost of living, pleasant climate, and excellent schools make Shreveport a wonderful place to raise a family.
