As the only hospital on Kodiak Island, Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center is truly a "critical access" hospital accredited by The Joint Commission and designated as a Level IV trauma center by the State of Alaska. The 25-acute-bed facility plays an indispensable role in the lives of nearly 14,000 residents in the city of Kodiak, the Coast Guard base and neighboring villages. With an MRI, 64-slice CT and other state-of-the-art equipment, our physicians and a cadre of visiting specialists are able to provide advanced care right here in Kodiak. The hospital receives high marks from patients, physicians and employees alike.
