About St. Francis

For over a century, St. Francis Medical Center’s mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to those most in need has remained constant. From its modest beginning in July 1913 as a three-story red brick building with 75 patient beds, today St. Francis Medical Center is a 324-bed tertiary referral center with several locations providing a host of services. St. Francis Medical Center is part of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, one of the largest healthcare systems based in Louisiana and the leading healthcare provider for more than half the state’s population.

Monroe, nestled on the banks of the Ouachita River, is a charming northern Louisiana town. It is home to more than 100 locally owned restaurants, ample shopping, museums, six colleges and universities, strong school systems, and endless outdoor adventures. Monroe is also easily accessible from major highways and a regional airport.
