*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail pharmacy, with experience in long-term care (LTC) and critical care settings as a plus. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient service, conducting thorough patient assessments, and ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications. The Staff Pharmacist will also be responsible for managing pharmacy operations, including inventory management and compounding medications.

*Grizzly Pharmacy is searching for a Retail Pharmacist for an Independent Retail pharmacy . Grizzly Pharmacy is looking for a pharmacist with the following traits:*
* *Experienced working in a fast-paced environment.*
* *Performs and/or oversees the completion of all routine tasks of technicians.*
* *Assists the Owner and the PIC with instructing, directing, and overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff.*
* *Evaluates received prescriptions for appropriateness and medical necessity of drug, dosage, route of administration, potential drug interactions, and potential adverse reactions.*
* *Collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide quality pharmacy services.*
* *Communicates with physicians and offices for a non-formulary drug, quantity limits, age restrictions, and formulary alternatives.*
* *Complies with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.*
* *Performs monthly/quarterly/yearly inventory counts for controlled and non-controlled substances.*
* *Communicates progress toward goals and ongoing obstacles to PIC verbally and/or in writing.*
* *Experienced in Worker's Compensation/Injured Workers prescription dispensing, including billing those medication using pharmacy processing software, communicating with patients/injured workers, as well as communicating with insurance adjusters.*
* *Prior experience with Worker's Compensation is a PLUS.*

*Pharmacist related skills/licenses include:*
* *Leadership and supervisory experience preferred*
* *Pharm D with Active License in Good Standing in CA *
* *Able to perform duties as a Licensed Pharmacist in CA ( applicable licenses from other states are a plus)*
* *Strong written and oral communication skills*
* *Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Excel/Word preferred, Google Suite a plus*
* *Basic familiarity with Pharmacy Software, PBM Metrics, etc.*
* *Ability to multitask and complete jobs with supervision*
* *Ability to work and produce results under pressure*
* *Strong interpersonal communication skills both with coworkers, supervising employees, and patients*
*Responsibilities*
* Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring safe and effective medication management.
* Conduct patient assessments to evaluate medication therapy outcomes and make recommendations as needed.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
* Oversee the compounding of medications, adhering to aseptic techniques and quality standards. ( Not Required but prior experience is a plus).
* Utilize pharmacy software and electronic medical record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation and patient care coordination.
* Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
* Manage inventory effectively, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring medication supplies.
* Provide guidance and training to pharmacy technicians as needed.
* Stay current with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and advancements in pharmacy practice.
*Experience*
* Previous experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is as plus.
* Critical care experience is highly desirable.
* Completion of a pharmacy residency program is a plus.
* Clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on pediatrics or acute care is beneficial.
* Familiarity with IV insertion, IV infusion, pain management strategies, and medication administration protocols is essential.
* Proficiency in using EHR systems for patient documentation and care management.
* Strong understanding of medical management principles and the ability to apply them in practice.
