The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct thorough patient assessments and record medical histories.
* Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing.
* Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays.
* Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
* Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
* Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
* Ensure the dental office adheres to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
* Utilize EMR systems for documentation review and patient management.
* Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both general and pediatric dentistry settings.
*Skills*
* Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
* Experience in pediatric dentistry and chairside assisting is a plus.
* Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review processes.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
