*Position Summary*
The *Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Manager* oversees all sterile compounding operations within our 503A pharmacy. This role ensures full compliance with USP <797> and <800> standards, state board of pharmacy requirements, and company policies. The manager leads a team of pharmacists and technicians to maintain excellence in aseptic technique, quality assurance, and patient safety.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Supervise daily sterile compounding activities and cleanroom operations.
* Ensure compliance with USP <797> and <800>, as well as state and federal pharmacy regulations.
* Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sterile compounding.
* Oversee staff training, competency assessments, and aseptic technique validations.
* Conduct environmental monitoring, equipment calibration, and certification schedules.
* Manage inventory of sterile raw materials, supplies, and beyond-use dating.
* Collaborate with quality assurance personnel on process improvements, deviations, and corrective actions.
* Review and approve compounding records and batch documentation.
* Support and prepare for regulatory inspections and internal audits.
* Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
*Qualifications*
* *Education:* PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
* *Licensure:* Active pharmacist license in *Kansas*. Additional states preferred but not required.
* *Experience:* Minimum 3 years of experience in sterile compounding; prior leadership experience preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of USP <797> and <800> standards.
* Proven ability to lead and mentor a compounding team.
* Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience in a 503A compounding pharmacy setting.
* Certification in sterile compounding or aseptic technique training (e.g., ACPE-accredited).
* Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and batch documentation tools.
