Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the delivery of skilled treatment to patients as prescribed by a physician, for the purpose of restoration and rehabilitation. Works directly with the patient and patient families in an instructive capacity in preventative maintenance measures
* Functions as a member of the home care team to the patient. Evaluates patient's neuromusculoskeletal status to determine deficits. Considers diagnosis, prognosis, and pertinent medical history in determining rehabilitative potential
* Ensures and establishes goals for Occupational Therapy in accordance with the physician orders. Revises goals as needed according to the patient's response to treatment
* Collaborates with primary RN and other primary disciplines on overall goal for home care; reports to RN and home care team on patient status through individual contact and participation in patient care conferences
Qualifications/Requirements:
* License to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Virginia.
* Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and American Occupational Therapy Association, or is eligible for the National Registration Examination of American Occupational Therapy Association
* Recommended 1 year experience or related Occupational Therapy experience. If less than 1 year of experience, approval from Program Director/Administrator required. CPR Certification.
