Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is hiring APPs to join the Pediatric Critical Care team. The team works across the Philadelphia and King of Prussia campuses staffing the 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Philadelphia, 75-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Philadelphia, and 14-bed PICU at the King of Prussia Hospital.
The PCU, housed within the critical care complex, cares for trach- and vent-dependent patients that vary in age from infant through young adult. The PICUs admit infants, children, and adolescents who are critically ill or injured. Patient diagnoses cover a broad range but commonly include acute respiratory failure, severe infection, poisoning, drug overdose, trauma, extensive surgery, congenital anomalies, and immunological disorders. The team consists of over 30 APPs working a rotating schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Providers who are new-to-practice will receive a robust 16-20 week training inclusive of clinical, didactic, and simulation-based education as part of the Advanced Practice Clinical Immersion Program.
