NP/PA Regional Newborn Hospitalist Opportunity- Greenville, NC

ECU Health Physicians, ECU Health Maynard Children’s Hospital, and ECU Health Community Hospitals are expanding and seeking an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their newborn hospitalist programs.

Clinical care will be provided at ECU Health’s Maynard Children’s Hospital and all community-based hospitals that provide newborn services within our system of care.

New NNP or PNP-AC graduates are encouraged to apply.

ECU Health’s Maynard Children’s Hospital is the only tertiary facility in eastern North Carolina designed especially for pediatric patients and includes ECMO and pediatric surgery programs.

• Hospital privileges at all ECU Health Community Hospitals, Carteret Healthcare in Morehead City, NC, & ECU Health’s Maynard Children’s Hospital at ECU Health Medical Center, located in Greenville, NC
• Growing 9-hospital physician-led healthcare system
• Schedule includes 8–9 on-site newborn nursery shifts (10 hours, 7 a.m.–5 p.m.) at The Maynard Children’s Hospital and 4–5 unrestricted 24-hour call shifts at a community-based hospital per 28-day cycle, with 15 days off
• Clinical responsibilities will include rounding and coordination of care from admission to discharge for all newborn patients and attendance all at risk deliveries and participation in the resuscitation, stabilization, and transfer of critically ill neonates as needed
• Procedural skills include delivery attendance and resuscitation, umbilical venous line placement, intubation, and circumcision coordination of care
• PALS, BLS, and NRP certifications are required
• Housing and mileage reimbursement provided for community hospital shifts when greater than 30 minutes from provider’s home residence

Job Requirements include:

• PNP-AC, NNP or Physician Assistant
• NC RN licensure & NC Nurse Practitioner or NC licensure as a Physician Assistant
• National Board Certification as a Pediatric NP-AC, Neonatal NP or as PA required, including maintenance
• 2+ years of experience in health care setting
• Applicants will be required to have BLS certification from The American Heart Association
