We are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our dedicated Anesthesiology Team at the University of Vermont Health Network, serving Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) in Plattsburgh, New York. In this role, your clinical, technical, and administrative skills will be essential in providing outstanding patient care while prioritizing safety, privacy, and confidentiality in our close-knit rural communities.
Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia as per the defined scope of practice.
- Assess patients and assist in developing anesthesia care plans.
- Demonstrate excellence, caring, safety, and cooperation in all patient interactions.
- Maintain awareness of patient rights and confidentiality policies.
Education Requirements:
-Education: B.S.N. or Bachelor's degree in healthcare; CRNA Master's or Doctorate from an accredited educational program.
-Licenses/Certifications: Licensed RN and APRN in New York; NBCRNA Certification.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience preferred.

CVPH is a 300-bed community hospital located in the northeastern region of New York State serving a catchment area of approximately 170,000. The facility includes a 14-bed state-of-the-art critical care unit and 9 state-of-the-arts OR’s. The typical daily census is approximately 250 (approximately 130 acute/private beds). We have an average of 25 admissions and 775 outpatients per day. We have over 230 physicians on the Medical Staff representing many sub-specialties. On average CVPH has 9,400 admissions, 825 births, 46,000 emergency room (Level 3 Trauma Center) visits and 19,000 surgical procedures. CVPH is JCAHO accredited and recognized by Healthgrades as a Top 100 Hospital for Cardiac Care.
Our state of the art critical care unit has 14-beds, the Progressive Care Unit has 12 beds and our three cath labs have digital equipment. We have 9 state-of-the-arts OR’s, a 27-room Emergency Department and newly constructed interventional radiology suites. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center has 4 OR’s and 4 endoscopy suites. The EMR network wide in both the clinic and inpatient settings is EPIC.
Now more than ever, CVPH is committed to creating a learning environment to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded medical training experience. Our affiliation with the University of Vermont Medical Center, a level I trauma center located 1 hour away, has helped us to establish a community-based Family Medicine Residency.
