Job Overview – PRN Advanced Practice Clinician (NP/PA), Urgent Care

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Clinicians (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants) to join our PRN Urgent Care team in Virginia Beach. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while enjoying the flexibility of a PRN schedule.

As part of our urgent care team, you will manage a wide range of non-emergent illnesses and injuries, working alongside a supportive staff that includes medical assistants and front-office team members. Our urgent care clinics are open 7 days per week, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., giving providers the opportunity to pick up shifts that align with their availability and lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care for walk-in patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of urgent care needs
• Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, I&D, and wound care as appropriate
• Collaborate with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent service
• Provide patient education and ensure clear communication around care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (Epic EMR)

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Virginia
• Active DEA license
• Two years of active PA/NP experience
• Urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting

• Clinic is closed New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
