Opportunity Criteria
Emergency Psychiatry Physician Assistant
Opening for a Physician Assistant to join the Psychiatry consult team in the Emergency Department at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing new patient and follow-up consultations autonomously in a high-volume Emergency Department in collaboration with the broader Emergency Medicine team, which includes psychiatry attendings, residents, social workers, mental health technicians, and medical students.
Full and part time positions available. Primary shift coverage needs are M-F 1:30 - 9pm and weekends 8a - 8p. Shift differential eligible.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous clinical experience as a PA is strongly desired, with preference given for experience in psychiatry or emergency medicine.
- Candidates should have clinical experience and comfort working with patients in acute mental health crisis.
EDUCATION
- Successful completion of a CAAHEP approved PA educational program. NCCPA certification is expected.
- Must hold or be able to attain certification from the VT Board of Medical Practice as a PA.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
