Opportunity Criteria
Emergency Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner
Opening for a Nurse Practitioner to join the Psychiatry consult team in the Emergency Department at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing new patient and follow-up consultations autonomously in a high-volume Emergency Department in collaboration with the broader Emergency Medicine team, which includes psychiatry attendings, residents, social workers, mental health technicians, and medical students.
Full and part time positions available. Primary shift coverage needs are M-F 1:30 - 9pm and weekends 8a - 8p. Shift differential eligible.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous clinical experience as an NP is strongly desired, with preference given for experience in psychiatry or emergency medicine.
- Candidates should have clinical experience and comfort working with patients in acute mental health crisis.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred
EDUCATION
- Registered nurse who has successfully completed formal education program approved by the Vermont Board of Nursing, or state or national accrediting agency which prepares nurses to function in advanced nursing practice.
