OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

 St. Joseph’s Health is seeking to recruit an experienced Cardiac Surgical Physician Assistant or RNFA to join the Cardiac surgery program at St. Joseph’s Hospital located in Syracuse, NY. Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistants first assist and cover floor consults. This role is full-time with weeknight and weekend call rotation. 

 

POSITION DETAILS:

  • First assist with all open-heart cases, no vascular, some thoracic, adult only.
  • Responsibilities include daily rounds with CTS Team, caring for post-operative patients in the ICU and on the floor, admitting transfers from outside facilities and the emergency department, and consultations.
  • Physician Assistant must be proficient in vein harvesting, chest tube placement, central line placement, and arterial line placement.
  • Call Coverage:  1 weekend a month with occasional additional coverage needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Applicants should have the following:
  • NYS licensure
  • DEA certification
  • ACLS/BLS
  • At least 1-3 years of Cardiac surgical first assisting experience
  • Graduation from an accredited PA program, Board Certification (or RFNA Certification)

 

RECRUITMENT PACKAGE:  St. Peter’s Health Partners offers a comprehensive salary and compensation package that includes: 

  • Compensation is between $127,857- $222,472
  • The posted salary reflects the starting and max range of total compensation and does not include call shift stipends, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
  • 5k Starting Bonus
  • 5k Relocation Bonus

  • Paid malpractice, including post-SPHP employment tail coverage
