Job Summary:

Dignity Health’s Pacific Central Coast Health Centers (PHC) is seeking a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive patient care in an ambulatory setting. You will play a vital role in delivering health maintenance exams and patient education for all age groups, including well-child exams, adolescent exams, sports physicals, and adult physicals, including pap and pelvic exams. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient clinical care in an ambulatory setting.
  • Conduct health maintenance exams for patients of all ages.
  • Deliver appropriate patient education and counseling.
  • Take thorough medical histories and assess medical conditions.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assess situations, consider alternatives, and choose appropriate courses of action.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Certification: Nurse Practitioner certification from an accredited association.
  • Licensure:
    • Licensed by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
    • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
    • DEA License.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Must meet credentialing requirements.

Experience and Skills:

  • Knowledge of nurse practitioner principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of methods ensuring a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability in providing care within field boundaries.
  • Skill in applying and modifying professional nursing techniques for ongoing patient care.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to actively listen and understand patient needs.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional attitude with dependability, maturity, self-confidence, and a commitment to the organization.
