SSM Health is proud to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to become a valued member of our exceptional healthcare team in Jefferson City, Missouri.  Flexible scheduling for this full-time position offering different shift options. Urgent Care is open Monday-Friday from 7am-630pm and weekends 8am-430pm.  As an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing efficient and high-quality care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries in our urgent care setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Licensure and Certification: Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Missouri (or willingness to obtain one). Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience: One-year proven experience in urgent care, primary care, or a similar fast-paced clinical setting, showcasing strong clinical and diagnostic decision-making skills.

Core responsibilities include:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations, to determine the appropriate course of treatment for urgent care patients.
• Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and injuries, such as upper respiratory infections, minor lacerations, sprains, and fractures.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and electrocardiograms, as needed to assist in the diagnosis and management of patients.
• Prescribe medications, including antibiotics, pain relievers, and other medications, according to established protocols and guidelines.
• Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, injury prevention, and treatment plans, including medication instructions and follow-up care.
