PMHNP at Trinity Health - Minot, ND

The PMHNP at Trinity Health will provide comprehensive mental health services across the lifespan, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage mental health conditions. You will be responsible for managing psychiatric disorders, conducting therapeutic interventions, and prescribing medications as part of a holistic treatment plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mental health assessments for individuals and families across the lifespan.
  • Develop psychiatric diagnoses based on patient evaluations, history, and assessments.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments for various psychiatric conditions, such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, schizophrenia, and other mental health issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
  • Provide psychotherapy (individual, family, or group therapy) in addition to pharmacologic treatments.
  • Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in psychiatric mental health.
  • Licensure: Board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and licensed to practice in the state of North Dakota.
  • Experience: Previous experience in psychiatric care is preferred but not always required. New graduates may be considered.
