Critical Care/Pulmonary NP/PA - PRN - Portsmouth VA

The Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center Critical Care and Pulmonary team is adding a PRN/per-diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to our team!  

This is a great position for an experienced APC who wants to work shifts for extra income.  Experienced APC's are encouraged to apply.  One-Year Critical Care Practice Experience is required.  Inpatient Acute Care such as Cardiology will also be considered.

Maryview Medical Center is located in Portsmouth, VA - 40 min from Virginia Beach, 20 min from Chesapeake, Norfolk and Suffolk

• Our Pulm/CC team consists of 6 MD and 7 APC
• Shifts are 13 hours:  Days 7am - 8 pm, Nights 7pm - 8 am
• ICU coverage shifts as-needed - will mostly be weekends (day/night)
• Estimated average monthly shifts needed:  3 to 4 with ability to flex up to 8 to cover for PTO
• Procedures:  central line insertion, arterial line insertion, temporary hemodialysis insertion, dialysis CRRT
• Average 14-20 patients per day, all age 18 or older
• 100% inpatient
• EPIC EMR
• Manages critically ill medical and surgical patients in a 17-bed general ICU
• Performs daily multi-disciplinary team rounding and collaborates with the attending physician in formulating the plan of care
• Documents history and physical, progress notes, consults, discharge and death summary
• Works collaboratively with nursing staff and other disciplines in implementing plan of care
• Facilitates family meetings in discussions of goals of care
• Acts as a clinical resource for nursing staff, offering guidance and support in the delivery of high-quality patient care.
• W2 income paid bi-weekly.  There are no benefits offered for PRN.
• 120 days for payer credentialing before start date
