Welcome to Dr. Kavita Vyas' practice, located in Nacogdoches, TX. Dr. Vyas has been practicing medicine in Nacogdoches since 2000 and takes great pride in the roots she has grown in the community. In 2025, she joined Catalyst Physician Group to achieve her mission of advancing patients health through personalized accessible care in and around the Nacogdoches community. 

JOB SUMMARY

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) working with Dr. Vyas, you'll be a vital part of the team helping Nacogdoches thrive by providing direct patient care in our all adult internal medicine practice. We are seeking a team player that has experience working in a fast paced environment and has a passion for patient care for adults of all ages. You will see approx. 15-20 patients per day and have in-office support as well as Catalyst support teams including 24/7 Care team support, referral coordinators and more. Your schedule will be Mon-Thursday 8-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Functions independently to perform a broad range of medical services including, but not limited to the following:

• Providing direction, coordination, and evaluation of patient care delivery
• Patient assessment
• Age appropriate history and physical
• Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays relative to a patients specific needs
• Annual exams
• Educating patients on disease prevention and positive health and lifestyle choices
• Documenting encounters in the Athena EMR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Current Texas license and certification
• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program
• Experience as an NP or PA in an outpatient clinic setting
• Competent with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 years related experience preferably in a Primary Care outpatient setting
