AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a NP to provide comprehensive care, support and
education to patients and their families through all aspects of their Pre-Admission process.
The NP will be responsible for assessing patient needs and planning, implementing and
evaluating their progress, based on knowledge inherent in their practice utilizing a multidisciplinary
approach.

This role is 100% hospital-based at AdventHealth Porter’s PAT Clinic.
Two years of cardiac NP experience preferred. No new grads at this time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pre-operative evaluation including histories and physical exams, clinical
evaluation and assessment of the peri-operative surgical patient for surgical
clearance
Responsible for facilitating communication between offices, surgeons, and the
anesthesia team
Ensures that appropriate testing and clearances are obtained prior to surgery
and communicates with the surgeon or APP regarding patient concerns
Enters labs and testing as appropriate
Formulates collaborates plan of care and identifies expected patient outcomes
Organizes, coordinates and prioritizes patient care utilizing available resources
Provides patient and family education
Completes a thorough chart review and documents pertinent medical history,
medication reconciliation, database assessment, and risk and triage when
appropriate
Adapts to rapidly changing technology as evidenced by competency in
technology and equipment used in the patient care setting. Documents patient status, interventions, response and outcomes in accurate,
timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s Degree in Nursing as Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited
postgraduate certificate program. Must be a graduate from an Accredited
School of Nursing
Associate degree in nursing (Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing)
Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced
Practice Nurse (APN) Registry. Board certified as an Advanced Practice
Registered Nurse.
Basic Life Support (BSL-May be required depending on practice setting)
ACLS (May be required depending on practice setting)
RXN/RXN-P (Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive
Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan)
