Job Description

Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team in providing specialized care for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. The Thompson Center is a multi-disciplinary center with 15 different clinical subspecialists and is integrated fully with the academic training and research missions of MU. The Center is growing and currently planning for a new, state-of-the-art facility and additional clinical programming.

This position is dual posted with Job ID 56679 (Nurse Practitioner) and only one role will be filled.

Job duties:

•    Diagnose and manage common pediatric conditions and developmental disorders.
•    Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with parents and caregivers
•    Educate families about child development and health maintenance.
•    Provide counseling on behavioral issues and developmental challenges.
•    Conduct thorough physical and developmental assessments for children.
•    Evaluate growth patterns and developmental milestones.
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation of patient encounters.
•    Monitor and document progress in developmental assessments.
•    Share clinical documentation for review by collaborating physician.
•    Work closely with pediatricians, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
•    Maintain open communication with the collaborating physician for patient care.
•    Refer patients to specialists as needed.
•    Advocate for children’s health and development within the community and healthcare settings.
•    Participate in community outreach and education programs.
 

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.
